Majestic Loft

The Majestic was built in 1908 and was originally a 14-story office building and 2,000 seat theatres. The box office and lobby for the theatre were located in the center bay of the office building with the auditorium behind. Originally a vaudeville theatre, the Majestic featured top performers including Harry Houdini, the Marx Brothers, and Jack Benny. After the opening of the new, more glamorous, Riverside Theatre one block eastward in 1928, the Majestic started showing movies. In 1932, the theatre was closed and turned into retail and office space.
