Chelsea Place

Chelsea is one of the most artistically rich neighborhoods in a city known for its culture. While 23rd Street used to be the cutoff for Chelsea proper, the advent of all the avant-garde art galleries west of 9th avenue now stretches the neighborhood as far north as 30th Street. Residents love the charm of townhouses and brownstones in the teens and '20s, along with the excellent array of dining and shopping. Chelsea Market, a wonderful collection of shops, restaurants, and specialty stores, Chelsea Piers, a sport enthusiast's dream complete with batting cages, a world class gym, golf range, and soccer fields, and the above ground elevated park on the site of a former train line, familiarly known as The High Line, are three highlights that should not be overlooked.
