It’s that time again, another holiday is just around the bend and you are still trying to recuperate from all of those Christmas gifts.
How do you even know that many people?! Like many others, you probably went way over your Christmas budget. You know, the one where you promised a gift under $20 for each family member, yet you somehow managed to spend well over that for your significant other alone.
While your still-recovering bank account might cringe at the upcoming Valentine’s Day, don’t fret! Keep reading for some great, and intimate, Valentine’s gifts under $10. Show your partner just how special they are to you with something special that won’t break your bank.
Candy Bouquet
Candy bouquets are great for guys and girls. What kind of person doesn’t enjoy some type of candy? You can buy enough candy, tape, and lollipop sticks, all for under $10. Just tape the sticks to the back of the candy box or bar, and tie all of the sticks together near the bottom with a pretty ribbon. For some added flair, purchase a vase from the dollar store to put the bouquet in.
Classic Flower Bouquet
If you are old fashion, you can still purchase a pretty bouquet of flowers for under $10. Chances are you will have to purchase these from your local grocery store, but no one has to know that! Delivering them yourself also saves you from that hefty delivery fee the florist charges.
Teddy Bear and Chocolates
Your gal might be more in favor of this than your guy, but the gesture and timelessness of a cute stuffed teddy holding a heart and a box of delicious chocolates is still a great way to show your partner that they are special. There is no need to buy the most expensive chocolate out there, a small box of your significant other’s favorite will be cherished!
Movie and Wine
You can go to the movie theatre and spend at least $20 for two tickets. Or, you could rent a movie from Redbox for $1 and pick up a nice bottle of wine for about $8 and cuddle up on the couch in each other’s arms. Set the mood by turning off the lights, lighting some candles, throw a blanket and some pillows on the floor and enjoy.
S’mores Date Night
Nothing says “I love you” like a gooey, melty, warm s’mores! Marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate are all you need! Don’t have a fireplace? No worries! Light a candle and stick your marshmallows on a fork over the flame. If all else fails, take a cast iron skillet and fill the bottom with your chocolate bars. Put your marshmallows on top and bake in the oven until the marshmallows are browned slightly. Use your graham crackers to scoop up that gooey goodness! Bonus points: you get to lick the chocolate off each other’s lips.
Sexy Game Night
Valentine’s Day is about expressing your love and building intimacy between you and your partner. Pull out a game of any kind, even Scrabble, and make it sexy. Set rules and if they are broken, the breaker has to lose an article of clothing. Whoever loses has to reward the winner in some way. Be creative and have fun with it, it’s you and your best friend after all.
Athlete’s Candy
If you are with one of those people who is constantly watching what they eat and chasing a healthy lifestyle, there are still treats for them as well! Instead of candy, get your special someone a box of protein bars! You can still get these for under $10 and your honey will be touched that you accounted for their health when buying them a gift.
Write a Love Letter
Spending money on items isn’t always the way to show your partner how you feel. Sometimes, you need to express those feelings through purely written words on paper. Be open and raw when pouring your heart out and do not be afraid to be vulnerable. This is something your lover will be able to keep with them always.
