From homemade gifts to breakfast in bed, we did everything we could as kids to show our mothers we cared on Mother’s Day.
Now that we’re all grown up… well, we’re still broke. Here are some really nice gifts you can buy for your mother that’s within any budget.
Lush: Lush has an incredible array of their natural, homemade soap products specifically for Mother’s Day. With cute, themed bath bombs, soaps, and gift boxes ranging from $5-$80, there is something for every budget. You can mix and match soaps that you know she will like, or buy her a wrapped box from their online store or at a Lush store near you.
Etsy: Etsy is the place to go if your mom is sucker for personalization. They have everything from jewelry to t-shirts, to which you can add your own personal touch. My personal favorite that is great for a mom who lives in a different state: a personalized mug by SadiaMax for $13.95. You pick out the states where you both live, and the seller will put both states on the mug with a cute little message.
Flowers & Chocolates: The classics never get old, and why should they? These items are notoriously affordable and readily available.
Bath and Body Works: This is another great place to shop for a mom who loves beauty products. They have amazing-smelling fragrances, lotions, body butters, oils and candles. Don’t know exactly what she’ll want? The online store has suggestions for you, including Mother’s Day gift boxes for around $25 with a body lotion, shower gel, and fragrance mist.
U. and Me: College merch is a nice personal gift for the woman who supported you through everything, including your education. Give your mom something to show off with a gift from your college bookstore. For example, at San Diego State we have “mom” mugs, keychains, t-shirts, and license plate frames. The license plate frame that has “SDSU Mom” written on it is only $18 from our bookstore. Check out your own bookstore, and find something that’s both scholastic and fantastic.
Sephora: This is one of my mom’s favorite places to shop for makeup, but they are typically pretty pricey. However, their gifts sets end up being much cheaper as a set than if you bought each high-end item individually. They have a wide selection online as well as flash shipping, making last minute shopping a stress-free occasion. Look here for anything from makeup and skincare, to perfumes and haircare.
Of course, these are all just ideas and only you know what your mom really likes. Don’t worry about spending a ton of money, especially if you don’t have it. Mom will understand, and will most likely love that you were thinking of her.
