Do you have trouble staying organized in your college apartment? Watch this video for some awesome tips on how to stay organized using an agenda!
Here are some of our tips on how to stay organized in your apartment and for class:
- Color code your notebooks for your different classes. Example: Red notebook for Biology, Blue notebook for English, Green notebook for Humanities.
- Have two-three bins or baskets for all of your books/binders/folders. Most likely you will have your classes every other day, though some might be every day. For your Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes, put all of your needed material in one bin and for your Tuesday/Thursday classes, put all your needed material in the other bin. If you have every day classes you can put that material in the third bin. This way, when you get ready for class, you have all your material in one place already organized. This way, it limits the amount of times you grab the wrong book for class or forget your very important notebook.
- Having an agenda and a desk calendar/wall calendar can help you keep your tests, quizzes, and assignments all in one place. Inputting important dates into your phone can also be helpful, if you remember to look ahead, instead of waiting until the day of!
- Keep all of your pens and pencils in a pencil case and for your college apartment, keep your writing utensils in a cup. Everyone hates it when they have to dig to the bottom of their bag to search for their pencil, only to find one that got crushed by your books. Having a pencil case makes it easy to find your writing utensils and it makes it easier to have multiples of them.
