It’s the beginning of another stressful semester, yet nothing can make you more stressed than living in a dirty apartment.
The floor is dirty, tables are dusty, and the bathroom is a mess. But who has the time to clean all of it? Definitely not the college student taking 6 classes and working part-time. Still, however impossible the task may seem, your spring cleaning does not need to take as long as it feels.
Here is how you can get spring cleaning done in under an hour:
Clear up the mess.
Get everything you can back into its place. This step shouldn’t take too long, depending on how many clothes you have piled up on the bed. If you clear up the mess before being your deep cleaning, you’ll have a lot more space to work with making it easier and faster.
Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum.
Vacuum cleaners are incredibly versatile. You can use it to clean any type of floor, not just carpets. It’ll allow you to rid your floors of dirt within minutes of little effort. Also, don’t forget to make use of your vacuum’s attachments. The hose can easily be extended to reach tight spaces and remove dirt in between couch cushions.
Use a duster and a wet cloth.
In a matter of seconds, a duster with a long handle can efficiently clean ceiling fans, shelves, and air vents that have gotten dusty but are too high to reach. You can use a duster to clear away dirt from any surface in your home. Same can be said for a wet cloth. A simple swipe using a damp cloth will eliminate most dirt from kitchen counters and tables.
Invest in dollar store cleaning products.
An important and cheap investment in making your spring cleaning quick and easy are cleaning products from your local dollar store.
Grout cleaning sprays and toilet cleaning bombs are examples of products you can buy to help you clean the bathroom with little effort and time. Just spray some cleaner in the kitchen, bathroom, and/or windows, then wipe it up with a paper towel and everything will look shiny and spotless.
In under an hour, your spring cleaning will be done and you will feel much more relaxed walking in after a long day.
