How Many Roommates are too Many?

If you have ever looked at apartment pricing, you’ll notice that the cost per room always lowers the more roommates you have.

Yes, this is obvious but before you jump into a six bedroom apartment, which some places do offer. Consider what it will be like living with six other people.

Sharing a kitchen, laundry machine, storage, living room etc., with six other people.

Ask yourself “ Am I going to be comfortable living with so many people?”

It’s okay if you’re not.

Every person has a magic number of roommates that work for them. Some people thrive with five other people around, while others love the quiet of having only one roommate.There is such a thing as too many roommates, it just depends on who you talk to.

If you’re moving into an apartment after the dorm, then reflect on how you liked living with so many people the past year. Would you do it again? Did you love it?

If you’re moving into an apartment from home, then think about personal space and your own comfort levels. Do you like to be surrounded by people? Do you enjoy coming home to a “full house”?

There is a reason that apartment complexes have two, three, and four bedroom options if not more. People are different and have different needs.
