Are you moving out of your home or dorm and living in a college apartment for the spring semester? If so, check out this helpful video for tips and tricks for moving out.
Moving out, whether from home or a dorm is a daunting task. You must first decide it’s the right time to move. Telling your parent(s) might be nerve wracking, but most parents will be supportive of your decision to lead a more independent lifestyle.
Finding the right off campus apartment is also a big task. If you go to a big school, there will be so many choices for you to choose from. If you have no idea where to start, look for apartments that have individual leases. This way, you are only responsible for your lease and not your roommate’s portion. There are also many student housing communities that offer fully furnished apartments. This allows you to pack less and save money on buying furniture!
Now what about the roommate? If you are moving out to live with friends, that’s awesome! If you are a transfer student and don’t know anyone, there are plenty of places to find a roommate that matches your personality. Most student apartments offer roommate matching services. All you do is fill out a form and they match you with people who they think you will get a long with. There are also other ways to find a roommate like Facebook groups and craigslist.
After you have transferred to your new off campus housing, make sure you find the quickest and best route to your college’s campus. This way when classes start, you won’t have to rush to your classes.
