Between looking at amenities, comparing floor-plans and deciding on roommates, there is a lot that goes into finding the perfect college apartment.
That being said, one of the things that typically fall through the cracks is checking the properties wifi.
If you find yourself in a situation where your complex has terrible wifi, don’t panic. There is a way to save your Netflix addiction without moving.
In fact, it’s an easy fix. Here are a few options that’ll speed up your wifi without breaking your budget or giving you a headache.
- Get a Modern Router. A lot of apartment properties use one router for the entire complex that all of the tenets share. Because of this, a slower speed often occurs. Routers start for as low as $25 and can be easily set up. If you have roommates, you can split the cost of one and then all share a faster internet speed.
- Call your internet provider. Go straight to the source and ask if there is anything you can do inside your apartment or on your computer to speed up your services. Even though it’s through your apartment, you can still call the company that provides internet services to your complex.
- Make a stronger password. You might be sharing your wifi signal and not even know it. Update your password every 3 to 6 months to keep others from latching on.
Don’t let a bad wifi connection keep you out of your dream apartment.
This is one problem that’s easy to fix.
