Halloween is one of those magical holidays that never loses its appeal.
When you’re younger, it’s a chance to put on a cute costume and get bags and bags of free candy. When you’re in high school is the one time a year where you get to wear something a little more out of the ordinary.
But, when you’re in college, Halloween means snazzy costumes, cheap day after Halloween candy and AMAZING deals at bars. The only challenge? (Aside from not slipping on your heels or accidentally wiping all of your costume makeup off)
Staying Safe.
Not only do a majority of college students drink on Halloween, but they are also wearing costumes so finding your friends can be difficult. Here are a few ways to stay safe on All Hallows Eve:
- Share your location with your friends. This goes along with charging your phone. Unlike some Halloween creatures, when you’re phone does it will not magically reincarnate. Make it easier to find you by sharing your location throughout the night.
- Pay attention to your friend’s costumes before you go out. This will help you identify them in a crowd. There may be a million guys wearing Freddy Krueger masks, but your friend could be the only one with a bright yellow pair of socks.
- Eat before you go out. The scariest creature is the one who is sick alone in a corner while dressed as Minnie Mouse.
If you put your drink down, don’t pick it back up. In other words, if someone else has access to your cup, it’s not for you anymore. Germs are scary. Don’t risk what you don’t know. Stay safe and get another drink.
- Have a meet-up time and location. Cinderella had to leave the ball at midnight to make it home without being publicly humiliated. Pick a time with your friends to meet if you get separated at a safe spot.
Halloween is scary, but don’t let your celebration haunt you forever.
