College students switch apartments frequently. In a four-year college career, a student can live tens of different properties.
This translates to moving tens of different times.
Instead of hastily throwing everything in the car and then spending months to unpack, next time you move, try this method.
It starts by how you pack. Pack each box by room and in order that you’ll unpack. Put cups with plates and spoons with forks. This means you should also pack all of your bathroom items together. Packing things by room or section will allow you to have everything you need for each area within reach when it comes time to unpack.
Then pack your car in order that you’ll need things. Need to unpack your clothes to feel at home? Have those items be the easiest to grab when you’re unpacking. The last thing you’ll need when unpacking, things like pillows and blenders should be last. This will let you spend more of your time unpacking what you’ll use. No one wants to run to their car at night because they forgot to unpack their toothbrush.
Finally, unload your car all at once. Once you have your boxes inside you can separate them by room and just unpack in order. You’ll feel so much better once each room starts to come together instead of hunting for one item at a time.
Moving in college is annoying, irritating and frustrating. But, moving doesn’t have to be time-consuming.
