You finally have your own space to decorate however you wish.
You can now free your inner Disney princess, and we have a few ideas to hopefully inspire you to do that through home décor!
Keep it Neat and Clean
Nothing says “Disney Princess” as much as cleaning like a maid! We all know Cinderella and Snow White were probably forced to scrub floors and perform other chores, but follow their lead in maintaining your apartment. It is, after all, a cheaper form of “decorating”.
Make Your Hobby Your Décor
Most of the Princesses had a special hobby: Merida could shoot a bow and arrow, Belle loved to read, Ariel collected items from fallen ships, and Rapunzel could paint. Take it from those ladies, find your hobby and use it to spruce up your space. If you’re a reader, make sure your books are in the open. Use them to fill in space, create stacks to set other items on top of, or use them to build a side table. If you can paint (and it doesn’t go against your apartment’s rules) draw a wall mural. Whatever your hobby is, don’t hide it!
Add Some Culture
Our princesses from the Renaissance era include Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan, all of whom brought different physical features and culture to Disney’s Princesses. If you are looking to decorate like a Disney Princess, add culture to your apartment. Styles can range from your own cultural background to maybe one which piques your interest. Sculpture, art, a variety of color palettes and furniture choice could all be fun features for play. Whatever culture you are looking into, do some research to get an idea of their typical decorating patterns.
Be Brave and Bold
All of our Princesses have shown bravery, or boldness, or both – that’s how they became so inspirational! However, the two who stand out the most are Mulan and Merida. These two young women are not only Princesses, but are willing to go to great lengths to save the people they love.
Decorate your apartment to show your bravery and boldness by using statement pieces that are unique and brightly colored. Remember, if you find a piece that stands out in style but is drab in color, you can always paint it and make it something truly unique!
