Valentine’s Day can be a stressful holiday to celebrate as a college student.
While Americans as a whole are spending more and more every year for their significant other, most college students don’t have a significant amount of money lying around. But of course, you don’t need to shell out a lot of money to make them happy.
One thing you could do together is simply going to a park to enjoy the great outdoors. You could even bring a picnic to the park. Other things you could do outside would be to explore campus or even go for a hike if you’re a more athletic couple. If you do want to do something outside make sure to keep the weather in mind.
If you can’t afford to go out for dinner and a movie you could stay home. Watch a movie on Netflix and cook your own dinner. Not only is this a cheaper alternative, it can feel more involved and personal than going out into the world of other couples on Valentine’s Day.
If your school puts on a Valentine’s Day activity that would be a good opportunity to consider. Since it’s an event for college students it shouldn’t be too expensive. It might not be the most exciting activity, but it wouldn’t be the worst idea to give it a try.
Or if you’re in the mood to give back, you might want to consider volunteering. There should be different charities open in your area that would appreciate a couple helping hands. And if you don’t have the kind of money to help out otherwise this can be the best way to do it. Doing what you can also bring you and your significant other closer together.
