Not all apartments are furnished.
That being said, if you find an apartment that you love and it doesn’t include furniture, that’s ok. It’s easy to spend thousands of dollars filling a living area but, it doesn’t have to cost nearly that much.
Instead of rummaging through wholesale stores, check out some of these places first.
- Thrift stores. These places are goldmines for hidden furniture gems. Most of the places don’t have frequently updated websites and that makes the hunt even more exciting. You never know what you may find. Plus some of the pieces can be easily redone to match the image you have in your head.
- Craigslist. There are thousands of postings for furniture every day. Using this platform, it is important to remember that you should always bring a friend when looking at an item or meeting someone from the internet. That being said, this is perfect for those who want to know what they are getting before walking into a store. Scroll through the pages instead of wandering around the isles
- Facebook. Some colleges have a “Free and For Sale Page”. This page is a platform for students to sell their old furniture to underclassmen and lessen their load when moving. For those just looking for a solid bedroom set that will last 4 years, this is for you. You should still bring a friend when looking because it is a stranger but other than that, this is a great way to find a deal.
A nice bedroom set doesn’t have to break the bank. There are great deals out there if you look for them.
