Having a Christmas tree in your home for some could be one of the most exciting embellishments around this sacred Holiday.
Some may feel Christmas trees give a warm inviting look no matter how plain, bright, tall or small, and seem to enlightened the Christmas spirit with that little something extra special.
Adding ornaments to your tree that represent your loved ones
Moving out of your home and entering the big world for the first time could be an exciting new adventure, but for some, it may cause some despairing around the holidays. Incorporating decorations on your Christmas tree that remind you of your loved ones back home could give you that home-like feel. “For example,” if your mom collected fairies, and your dad loved fishing, you could incorporate something that resembles both those things on your Christmas tree. You could also add an embellishment that represents each of your siblings, or other family members on your Christmas tree, and it may just make those doleful days seem a little more joyful.
Decorating your tree in accordance with where you grew up
Did you grow up somewhere that has snowy hills, and ice cycles hanging from the rooftops? Are you are now attending college somewhere where people wear sunglasses and shorts year around? Are you missing those snowball fights, and watching the snowflakes fall on the treetops? A great way you could bring that snowy winter feel to your apartment would be to decorate your Christmas tree in accordance with your hometown and how you remember “your Christmas,” being. If you grew up remembering a white Christmas, having your tree flocked could incorporate those snowy days, ice cycle or snowflake embellishments on or around your tree could give you that snow falling effect, and by adding blue garnish or lace, could give it that icy blue look. Your tree may just give you that comfort and remembrance of your upbringing winter days.
Adding those special memories to your tree
Bringing back great past memories could be just what some people need around the holidays. Do you have those silly or sentimental memories that pop into your mind from time to time, and they make you smile, or laugh? You could add some decorations to your Christmas tree that inspire those memories. If someone’s memory was: “Remembering how they would drink hot chocolate while watching the snow fall through the window with their brother,” they could represent, a hot chocolate ornament, or if their memory was “A cookie dough fight they had with their sister,” they could use a cookie ornament to represent that memory. Your tree could be filled with your great memories and could make wonderful stories to share with everyone around the Christmas season.
Incorporating your living room colors into your tree
Some people may like bright colors on their Christmas trees like bright blues, reds, and greens, but some may like more of a settled look to match their apartment. Let’s say your living room colors are brown, tan and black, you could add some settle white colored lights, pinecones, light wood colored embellishments, and black Christmas bulbs with some gold ice cycles, and top it off with a light yellow star. Incorporating your Christmas tree decorations with your apartment colors could give you that blending your lurking for but could still give you that Christmas feel.
Smaller trees can be just as glamorous with some great advantages
Setting up a Christmas tree for some may be a challenge because of their apartment size. You may not be able to quite fit a seven-foot tree in your living room but that doesn’t mean you cant enjoy that wonderful pine smell, you may just have to get a smaller size tree. Christmas trees come in many different shapes and sizes and can all be decorated glamorously. Adding some smaller embellishments on your tree like gold and silver bead necklace’s as a garnish, smaller candy canes, and lights, and for fun maybe some miniature Christmas stockings, with perhaps your families names on them. Smaller trees also have some great advantages. Choosing a smaller tree for your apartment could save you some time of having to clear a spot, and possibly having to move around furniture. Another advantage is getting things back to normal after the holiday’s can be somewhat of a hassle for some, but you may not have to worry about too much clean up with a smaller tree because there will be fewer pine needles to vacuum up, and putting away the tree decorations shouldn’t take up too much time. Therefore having a smaller Christmas tree could possibly be the ideal tree for you.
